Location

These workshops are part of the Global Warming Series painting exhibition by David J Emerson Young on view at FAR. Learn more about the exhibit here.

During this free event, young people will first spend time in the painting exhibition, viewing the work and talking with artist David Young about his choice of topics, his artmaking process, and the purpose of the Global Warming Series art exhibition. Then they will go outside to work in groups of 10 to do ‘sidewalk art expression’. This ‘sidewalk art’ uses stencils (such as endangered animals/insects and letters for expression with words) and ‘invisible’ spray by RainWorks that only shows up when it rains.

There is no charge for these workshops, and all young people must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the workshop.

Maximum 20 middle schoolers, (11-14 years old) per each workshop.

To RSVP, please contact Dena Hawes at: director@heartlandreconciliation.org

For all in-person attendees facial masks are required and other PPE will be provided.

*Rain dates are May 26 and May 28
