Join us in the 505 Theater at FAR Center for Contemporary Arts for the first look at the Archaeopteryx. This structure invites you to touch, explore and inhabit. This work in progress is in the final stages of fundraising and production, and will travel to Burning Man 2019. Resembling bird wings in motion, ocean waves, wind in sails, or a bioluminescent ocean creature, the structure is a modular construction (approximately 20 x 24 x 10 feet) made primarily from timber. It will also have kinetic parts operated by participants, functional communal seating, and when finished – responsive LED lighting, and interactive projection mapping.

Meet the creative minds behind Archaeopteryx during Gallery Walk, July 12, from 5-8 pm. Interact with the structure, see models, blueprints, photographs and video detailing the design and development. At 7pm, there will be a panel discussion featuring the architects, engineers and designers behind Archaeopteryx.

Get a behind the scenes look at the test build, as we feature an open studio in the 505 Theatre Tuesday July 9 – Friday July 12, daily from 10am to 5:30pm. Anyone can come by and see the progress as the structure is assembled and built for the Gallery Walk First Look or follow us on Instagram @wevolve.labs and @FourthandRogers for updates.
