Francisco Gonzalez Camacho | Opening Weekend
June 11, 2026

This past Friday was joyous- Francisco Gonzalez Camacho’s Opening Reception and the FAR Block Party truly stopped traffic in downtown Bloomington. Roads were closed to cars and instead filled with families coming out to experience art in many forms- from the opening reception of the winner of an international photography competition to talented local artisans showing work from a diverse array of mediums. There was live music to dance to and local culinary treats to taste.
In the swirl of liveliness and festivities, Gonzalez Camacho’s series you can’t enter the same river twice’ became a conduit for quiet thoughts and conversations. People were drawn into the intimacy of the small, finely realized objects he creates.
Gonzalez Camacho is this year’s winner of the prestigious Life Framer Series Award was juried by Pictura Gallery Co-Curators, Mia Dalglish + Lisa Woodward. This competition receives submissions from all around the world, and one exceptional series is selected each year for a solo exhibition.
