Paul Guilmouth and Dylan Hausthor are a collaborative artist duo. Their project ​“Sleep Creek” exists somewhere between reality and fiction. It is unclear whether the characters and the places they inhabit are captured or constructed by the artists.

I am drawn in by the sense of mystery that their images convey. I feel as if each photograph captures the decisive moment of an encounter or ritual that I don’t quite understand. It’s that same sensation that I get when I wake from a dream- I have the recollection of it all making perfect sense, but can no longer stitch together the pieces. Everything is fuzzy and fragments of the narrative fall in and out of my memory.
