Single Image Crush | Sergio Bruno
July 27, 2022
Sergio Bruno’s 45 Seconds of Me is series of self portraits made using the the wet plate collodion process. The exposure time for each plate is 45 seconds. Bruno describes the practice of making each portrait almost as a type of ritual that “lays bare my state of mind.”
I love this particular image because it feels like a dance encapsulated in a single photograph. Each gesture is folded on top of the next, and even though the image is still, the figure within it blossoms with movement.
