Single Image Crush | Nick Meyer
March 24, 2022
It doesn’t feel right to offer you Nick Meyer in only one picture; it’s the cumulative effect of his vision over the course of many pictures that gets my knees buckling. But maybe that happens because each single image is worth its salt. Meyer pursues the light in ordinary towns with such attentive awareness, like it’s his first love.
In today’s single image crush, the curtains part to reveal… a moderate Christmas tree, higher than it first appears, modest dwellings, and naked winter branches. All the layers of this small world compress into the flat window pane, the whole mundane scene robed in 17th century light.
